FOREIGN DEGREE RECOGNITION

UFSC recognizes undergraduate degrees conferred by foreign institutions when the degree program is equivalent to an undergraduate program offered at UFSC.

For Medicine degrees, applicants must first pass the INEP REVALIDA examination before submitting documentation to UFSC. For more information and application procedures, click here.

UFSC does not recognize technologist degrees. Holders of technologist degrees should seek a Brazilian Federal Institute of Education that offers equivalent programs.

HOW TO APPLY FOR DEGREE RECOGNITION

Applications for foreign degree recognition at UFSC must be submitted through the Carolina Bori Platform.

To apply, follow these steps:

1) Subit all required documentation through the Platform, in accordance with UFSC requirements and the guidelines provided in the Applicant Guide;

After the preliminary review and confirmation that all required documents have been submitted, the Student Administration Department (DAE) will contact the applicant by email to schedule an appointment for the presentation of the original physical documents. This step must be completed either by the applicant or by an authorized representative.

2) Present the original versions of the documents previously submitted through the Platform, in person at UFSC, for authentication of the digital copies;

3) Pay the initial fee of R$ 1800.00, corresponding to the application and document analysis services, as established by Normative Resolution No. 37/2025/CC. An additional fee of R$200.00, related to degree registration, will be charged at the end of the process, if the application is approved. The link with instructions for paying the fee (GRU) will be sent through the Platform after verification of the original documents.

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. UFSC has up to 30 days to carry out the preliminary review of the submitted documentation and notify the applicant. If an application does not include all required documents, or if the documentation does not comply with UFSC standards, priority may be given to the subsequent applicant whose documentation meets all requirements.
