Undergraduate Studies Council (CEG)

The Undergraduate Studies Council is a deliberative and consultative body on undergraduate matters, chaired by the Prorector for Undergraduate Studies and Basic Education, who is appointed by the Rector.

The responsibilities of the Undergraduate Studies Council are:

  • approve the curricula of undergraduate programs;
  • propose undergraduate policies and rules to the University Council;
  • approve the creation or cancellation of undergraduate programs;
  • act as an appellate body in the undergraduate area, when illegality is claimed in the judgment of processes originated from the University councils;
  • prepare and approve the operating rules for the Council;
  • approve the rules relating to the University Entrance Examination;
  • establish evaluation policies for the undergraduate programs;
  • propose rules and guidelines on faculty workload to the University Council;
  • express opinions on matters, plans or proposals within its area of activity;
  • elect the representatives of the Council together with the University Council, noticing that the indication of more than 1 (one) representative by University Unit is not allowed.
